Slowly moving and turning, Det is the sonic equivalent to watchinng the ocean. Great changes are constantly occuring, but the overall result is of a certain peace. The title track is a subtle and graceful classic, marrying the most elegant points of house and techno into a sublime whole. It stands apart in its spare, clean ar- chitecture, unfolding to the listener with ease.
On the ip, the propulsive „Brazil To Detroit“ lives up to its name. Like an imagi- nary route from South America to America‘s #1 shrinking city, it is a work of both grit and beauty.Schatrax, is a mythic name whose reputation with hits like „Mis- spent Years“ precedes him. His modernized house sound is the perfect accom- paniment to the original, like a depth charge of bass to the ocean oor, sending jubilant chords like iridescent creatures emerging from the shadows.
Köln‘s Daso Franke and Pawas Gupta burst onto the scene as a duo with 2007‘s Night Express EP winning fans as diverse as Dub re, Umek, Simon Baker and Jimpster. As a solo artist, Daso is known for his work on My Best Friend and Con- aisseur and made his Spectral Debut in 2007 with the hypnotic „Meine Idee EP“. Pawas‘s releases for Squonk, Playtex and Flash Recordings have made him a name to watch.
